While any man can grow a beard with little to no effort, there are a few things you can do to ensure you are rocking a beard to be proud of. Let’s be honest, if your beard is not a chick magnet, you need some help. These are easy things for you to do, so no excuses, let’s get that beard to the next level!
I’m sure I am not the only one that has ever looked down and seen a bit of my meal lounging in my beard. Sure, you can say you were saving that for later, but we all know the truth.
Smoking or even being around smoke can lead a stinky beard. Our hair is a great absorber of the surrounding environment, so be sure to wash it regularly. But do not wash too often or the soaps and shampoos will rob us of natural oils, more on that next!
Beard oil is your new best friend. Love it. Take it on car rides. Take it to the movies and rub it all up in that beard!
In a nutshell, the longer your beard is, the more natural oil (Sebum) is draw away from the skin to moisturize the hair. Got an itchy face? Now you know why!
You need to replace that oil with good quality beard oil. Find oil that is as natural as possible. A small amount of fragrance in the oil is ok if you aren't crazy about smelling like trees. Just be sure to test the oil on a small portion of your skin to make sure you do not have a reaction to it.
Anyone with long hair will tell you, the secret to growth is getting your hair trimmed regularly. Trimming dead ends will promote healthy hair and spur growth. For longer beards, every two months or so is a good interval for a trim.
The science is simple. Eating right, exercising and maintaining a healthy sleep schedule is good for your entire body, this includes your beard. Give it the nutrition, rest and hormones it needs and the benefits will come in spades.
Vitamin E can spike growth of capillaries. This increase in blood circulation is great for hair growth and health. Omega-3 (Fish Oil) can provide health and shine to your hair as well. That said, do your research and make sure these supplements are right for you and your lifestyle. If in doubt, contact a medical professional.
